At Santa Fe Presbyterian Church, we believe that children are the most important part of our ministry. We are called to develop them into future leaders of our church. We are called to learn from them the joy of unconditional love that Jesus expects us to have for each other. We are called to share in their curiosity of the universe.
We have Sunday School classes before service while the adult groups also meet. These classes include stories, music, and art that follow the Presbyterian lectionary calendar.
All children are invited to the front for a sermon that is just for them! It's a time that the lesson of the day is shared in a manner that is easier for the children to relate to. Throughout the service, we have activities that allow children to be part of worship while also keeping them occupied!
While we encourage children to be present during Sunday School and worship, we understand that is not always best for you or them. For that reason, we have a paid nursery staff that can watch children from newborn up during those times if needed.
We seek to find ways to allow children to assist in our worship services. Children serve as acolytes who light our candles, readers of scripture, musical performances, taking special collections, and any other areas that allow them to be a part of the greater church family!
Whether it's a visit from Santa while we explains the religious context of our Christmas Culture, an Easter Egg hunt where the the Easter Bunny is explained, or an opportunity to wear their Halloween costume and fellowship with each other - Santa Fe makes sure that children understand that it is not just ok to be a Christian - it can be fun too!
We provide a weekly chapel service for the children involved in the Santa Fe Day School during which they get a chance to learn some Bible Stories, sing, and experience God's love.
