Living by the law can lead one to a critical fallacy - that by taking this righteous action upon ourselves, we can find our own salvation. This leads to two problems, 1) a lack of reliance upon God and 2) judgement of others. We are not directed to be better than our fellow man, we are directed to rely upon God to make up the gaps in our imperfect lives. Mitch helps us understand how Luke's gospel tells us that failure to rely upon God and instead exalt our own accomplishments, even spiritual ones, will ultimately lead to a humbling experience.
