July Mission Project – NSO Martha’s House

Needs of NSO Shelter Apartments:

THANK YOU for helping our church sponsor apartments at the women’s shelter.   We could not do this without your help.    Items need not be new but in good and working order.   There’s a box under the officer’s mail boxes near the kitchen to put things brought to the church.    If you have questions, please call the church office

MARTHA’S HOUSE IS A TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES.

  • Martha’s House has seven fully-furnished, three-bedroom apartments. Each unit comes stocked with the basics the family may need, provided by apartment sponsors (individuals, churches, businesses, etc.)
  • Residents pay a monthly program fee that covers all bills. A portion of their fees go into an escrow account, which they can use as a down payment on an apartment when they complete the program.
  • Parents in the program at Martha’s House must attend weekly life skills classes that prepare them for permanent, independent living.
  • Residents must either be participating in the ReMerge program through United Way, be employed or be in school full time during the length of their residency. They can live at Martha’s House for up to 24 months.

“Martha’s House was a blessing, a wonderful blessing. When I left my husband I went to many places, but they wouldn’t help me because I had been hit physically, even though I knew my kids and I were in danger. I found Martha’s House, and they were so good to me. You are the angels that God put in my path. You are my family.
