Change in Worship Services – Rev. Mitch Miller

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As we are all finding out, “Life as usual” may never mean the same thing again.  But I am not ready to give up just yet, at least not on everything.  I wait and hope and long for the day when we will all be back together in worship again.  But I don’t know when that will be.  I pray sooner rather than later.

The session promised that we would constantly re-evaluate our worship situation as things changed around us.  Again, our primary concern is health and safety of the congregation.  At our stated meeting last night, the Session continued this process.  After a lengthy discussion and considering a number of factors, primarily the recent increase in cases of COVID 19 in the state of Oklahoma and more closely, Oklahoma County, we are making the following changes:

Beginning this Sunday, July 19, we will be worshiping at 11:00am only.  We will continue to stream the service live on Facebook, as well as allow people to worship in the sanctuary.  We will continue to expect people to practice social distancing and we will now require worshippers to wear masks.

The Session has not set a time frame nor and ending date for this policy.   The Session will continue to monitor the pandemic situation and the state and local government regulations and guidelines.  The Session will re-evaluate this decision at each month’s stated meeting, and more often if necessary.

We encourage those not attending worship in person to watch live on the Santa Fe Presbyterian Church Facebook page each week at 11:00am.  Again, you do not need a Facebook account to log on to the Facebook page.  If you are having trouble with this let us know, we can help.

If you have any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Finally, we ask again that you remain patient with us and pray for us as we prepare for this next adjustment in the life of the church.

Your Servant in Christ,
Mitch Miller, Pastor
